my journey
From Uncertainly to Embracing My Passion
Before moving to the United Stated, I had planned to pursue a nursing degree. However, life had other plans. I faced numerous challenges, including a language barrier, as I didn’t speak any English when I arrived. I had to start from scratch, learning a new language and navigating an unfamiliar environment.
During my first year in America, I attended ESL classes, obtained my beauty licenses, and earned my GED certificate. I then attended community college for a year and a half, majoring in Nursing. However, due to financial difficulties, I had to abandon my dream of becoming a nurse.
Becoming a beautician was never my initial aspiration, but it became a means to support myself financially. Despite challenges, I grew to love my work and took a pride in being a perfectionist. I realized that providing beauty services is not just about technical skills, but also about creating art that improves clients’ mood and brings them happiness.
Throughout my journey, I have met incredible people and had meaningful conversations. Sometimes, I have even been a listening ear, helping clients release their stress. Seeing the smile on their faces after each appointment is truly rewarding.
My journey has not been smooth, but it has taught me valuable lessons. I have learned to let go of unfulfilled dreams and appreciate the opportunities that come my way. I am proud to be an example of resilience and determination.
I am grateful for my upbringing, which has instilled in me a sense of appreciation and hard work. As I prepare to expand my beauty business, I am excited to pursue my passion and continue making a positive impact on my clients’ lives.
